Tiburcio Pitches Gem against Philadelphia 1776 Thursday, August 19th, 2038 The Philadelphia 1776 BC manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Charleston Battery. The BC were overpowered by Charleston starter Melvin Tiburcio, who hurled his club to victory, 2-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Josh Swain said. Over 9 innings, Tiburcio blanked Philadelphia 1776 on 2 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Tiburcio said.
