5-Hit Barrage by Powell Wednesday, July 5th , 2062 It was a sensational day at the plate for Dave Powell as he led the charge to a nifty 5-4 win over the Mockingbirds. The Seattle second baseman was pure misery for the Memphis pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 8 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Powell put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Beau Carsten, manager for the Mockingbirds, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Dave Powell singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th, singled in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th, grounded out in the 15th and hit a solo-shot off Craig Culver in the 17th.
