Moon Sizzles -- Smokes Godfathers for 5 Hits Tuesday, July 14th , 2054 Today at Pontiac Copperdome, Gerald Moon put on an impressive display. The Rocky Mountain Vibes center fielder tagged Pontiac pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Pontiac Godfathers by the score of 6-3. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Moon said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Vibes manager was unwilling to offer the center fielder much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "Gerald told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager John Simpson said. Gerald Moon singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Moon is batting at a .176 clip with 1 home run and 8 RBIs.
