Caldwell Shuts Out Niagara Falls, 1-0
Wednesday, July 21st , 2060
Before the game, Cheslav Vadbolski said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Pipers Ballpark, the Chiefs pitcher blanked the Niagara Falls Expos, 1-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Vadbolski said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my slider even when I was behind in the count."
The Caldwell starter held Niagara Falls scoreless, giving up 4 hits while registering 6 strikeouts and issuing 3 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Expos manager Joe Gregory said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
In 7 relief appearances this season, Vadbolski has no saves. He has 1 win and no losses, 4.91 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 25.2 innings.
