Tate Bewilders Pandas in 7-0 Shutout Saturday, May 26th , 2063 The Montana Pandas had no answer for Long Island Lighthouse pitcher Jeff Tate. They failed to score a single run against him, losing, 7-0. Montana managed only 3 hits off Tate, who had 10 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Tate got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Lighthouse fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
