Behind Johnston, Toledo Blanks Pittsburgh, 5-0
Monday, May 17th , 2055
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers were almost helpless today in their 5-0 loss to the Toledo Stingers and hurler Tom Johnston. Johnston kept the Kingfishers confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Johnston," Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 30-year-old left-hander had no walks and 5 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Johnston said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
