Salinas Powers 3 HR Against Detroit
Wednesday, June 13th , 2063
Dayton shortstop Fernando Salinas led the Dirty Reds to a triumph, 20-3, over the Detroit Rock City, crushing three home runs.
"He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Dayton skipper David Dodds.
Indeed, Salinas put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 7 RBIs.
"I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Salinas said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em."
Fernando Salinas hit a solo-shot off Steve Kidd in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, walked in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Marvello Manalo in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Carlos Rosado in the 9th.
This year, Salinas is hitting .314 with 11 home runs and 27 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .371 clip and scored 23 runs.
