Great Day for Byrd -- 5 Hits Monday, July 18th , 2061 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Brian Byrd of the Cape Coral Hurricanes. Byrd went on a tear at Megaffin Park and cracked hit after hit off Kingston pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond, the 23-year-old third baseman had a career 5-for-6 day and something he will long remember. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but I don't think I'll tell them we lost," he joked in the BNN postgame interview. Despite Byrd's personal accolades, the Kingston Ponies walked off the field with the 5-4 win. Brian Byrd singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Claude Simon in the 9th, walked in the 11th and singled in the 13th.
