Season May Be Over for Bowties Mathis
Thursday, August 11th , 2061
Doctors in Buckhead said Homer Mathis might not play anymore this year. The Bowties reliever suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament during a game against the Dayton Dirty Reds and will be out for at least 14 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.
This year, Mathis has pitched 38 innings over 24 relief appearances, picking up 1 save and held opponents to a .329 average. Mathis has a 2-3 record with a 8.29 ERA and 26 strikeouts.
