Santa Catalina Dazzled, van Capelleveen Hurls No-Hitter Saturday, August 21st , 2055 Dayton Dirty Reds starter Max van Capelleveen was unhittable today at Lang Park. van Capelleveen beat the Santa Catalina Condor 2-0, breezing through the Condor lineup en route to a no-hitter. "I thought Max started off a little slow and was struggling with his command at first," Dirty Reds manager David Dodds said later. "He lucked his way through the early innings, and they helped him out by not being patient. Eventually, it all came together for him, and from there on the Condor never had a chance. He dominated them." van Capelleveen struck out 9 batters and issued 2 walks in the performance. This year van Capelleveen has gone 6-9 with an ERA of 3.83 and has 119 strikeouts in 127 innings.
