Salinas Selected Top Performer in 3L Monday, September 11th , 2062 22-year-old Fernando Salinas sent shock waves through Menard's Third League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Menard's Third League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Salinas made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .667 average, 6 hits in 9 at-bats, 1 home run and 5 RBI. Where the Dayton Dirty Reds shortstop goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Salinas certainly made his mark last week. So far this season, Salinas is hitting .290 with 23 home runs, 66 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He has 91 hits in 314 at-bats and a .367 OBP. |
