Dodos End Palangan Streak Saturday, May 20th , 2062 The Salt Lake City Buzz lost to the Hialeah Dodos, 5-4, at Spirits Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Melchor Palangan's 20-game hitting streak. The first baseman went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Palangan, we would win the game," Dodos manager Albert Pérez explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This season, Palangan has hit at a .386 clip and produced 15 RBI, 3 home runs and 10 runs. |
