McNeal Hits 3 Homers Against Nashville Friday, July 13th , 2063 His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times Adam McNeal swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at Hot Chickens Park, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Nashville Hot Chickens were better. The Sunset District Fog couldn't capitalize on the big game from McNeal and dropped the contest, 7-6. The mood in the Fog clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Hot Chickens to spoil the day for McNeal. "Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Sunset District manager Juan Valéncia said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level." In addition to the homers, McNeal collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Sunset District left fielder told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3." Adam McNeal hit a two-run home run off Wendell Latham in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Wendell Latham in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Wendell Latham in the 5th and walked in the 7th. On the year, McNeal is hitting .353 with 36 hits, 7 home runs, 15 RBIs, .441 OBP and has scored 21 runs. |
