Disaster End Griggs Streak Saturday, July 30th , 2061 The Hialeah Dodos lost to the Port Royal Disaster, 2-1, at Ballpark of Port Royal, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Archie Griggs's 23-game hitting streak. The catcher went 0-for-2 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Griggs, we would win the game," Disaster manager explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This year, Griggs is hitting .295 with 9 home runs. |
