Vermont's Relief Ace Top Pitcher in September Thursday, October 1st , 2054 Sometimes relievers are treated like second class citizens, most of the time the award goes to the starters, but not this month. A reliever, Júlio Perea, has been named the Pitcher of the Month in the M3L Triple A. In September, the Vermont relief specialist stood out with no saves in 3 relief appearances, a 2-0 won-lost mark and 1.47 ERA. He worked 18.1 innings, allowed 10 hits, struck out 26 and walked 11. Since breaking into the league, Perea has compiled a 18-10 mark, pitched in 98 games, been credited with 12 saves and amassed a 3.07 ERA. He has 348 strikeouts in 290 innings pitched. |
