Squirrel Monkeys Pitching Ravaged by Verbiest Saturday, July 28th , 2063 Kelsey Verbiest was sizzling at the plate. The Ellenburg right fielder blistered the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to defeat, 7-3. "Verbiest was too tough to get out today," Squirrel Monkeys skipper Ramón Barrueco said in a postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win." Kelsey Verbiest singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season, Verbiest is batting .333 with 6 home runs.
