Baton Rouge Sweeps PL AAA Championship Thursday, September 22nd , 2061 Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2061, as the Baton Rouge Brass topped the Pennsauken Flyers 3-0 tonight at Brass Field to win the PL AAA Championship. It was the 8th title in franchise history. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Baton Rouge first baseman Domingo Gómez, who was named series MVP. The Brass took the series 2-0. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Premier AAA and a 64-38 record. Baton Rouge manager Luis Ruíz grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Gómez's words. "Domingo said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.
