Martínez Keeps Hit Streak Alive Saturday, July 29th , 2062 Carlos Martínez ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Liberty Reserve Stadium, when he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves dropped the game, 5-2, to the Hartford Pride. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Martínez said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Carlos Martínez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This year, Martínez is hitting .353 with 7 home runs. |
