SAAA's Best Pitcher is van Aerden Sunday, October 6th , 2058 Ton van Aerden walked away with the top pitching honors in the USSL Triple A this year. The Alaskan Humpbacks starter was named the Outstanding Pitcher Award winner for 2058 earlier today. This outstanding 34-year-old hurler fashioned a fine 9-2 won-lost record in 22 starts. He threw 147.1 innings, giving up 122 hits and 38 walks and holding opponents to a .221 average. van Aerden struck out 147 and posted a 2.20 ERA. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Steve Romero of the Kansas Rainbeaus finished second in voting, while Arthur Ward of the Alaskan Humpbacks finished third.
