Shamakani's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Tuesday, May 31st, 2044 Win or lose, Dean Shamakani just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Kansas Rainbeaus left fielder went 1-for-4 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 3-0 by the Tortolita Drummers at Wichita Field. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Dean Shamakani grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season Shamakani is hitting .355 with 4 home runs, 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 107 at-bats and a .389 OBP. |
