Wednesday, May 11th , 2061
Fans are still buzzing after Richland whipped the Tacoma Fur Traders by the score of 12-1 at Rails Ballpark.
Rubén López smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 7 RBIs and scored 3 times.
At the postgame press conference, López said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game.
"Getting one homer is special, and two is great," López said. "Three is just... wow."
Rubén López hit a two-run home run off Raph Liberato in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Francisco Alonzo in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Francisco Alonzo in the 7th.
To date this season, López is hitting .250 with 3 home runs.
