Wednesday, May 31st , 2062
The Lake Murray MotorBoaters were almost helpless in their 6-0 loss to the Barton Springs Blues and hurler William Richmond. Richmond kept the MotorBoaters confused all game, spinning a 2-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Richmond," Lake Murray manager David Buchanan said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 25-year-old right-hander had no walks and 11 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Richmond said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
For the season, Richmond is 2-and-3 with no saves and a 3.65 ERA. He has given up 31 hits in 37 innings with 33 strikeouts.
