5-Hit Barrage by Johnson Sunday, August 12th, 2040 The Atlantic City Sonics stopped the Irving Blue Sox by a score of 11-2 at Blue Sox Ballpark today, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Samual Johnson. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Johnson said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Johnson did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Blue Sox. "Not much that I can say," offered Irving manager Dave Lee. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Samual Johnson singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Bob Bolen in the 9th.
