SL AA Championship to Pierogis Saturday, September 25th , 2060 The Squirrel Hill Pierogis ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Marquette Miners 1-0 to win the SL AA Championship. Squirrel Hill won the series 2-1, capturing the title for the 4th time. "We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Squirrel Hill manager Ben Cooper. "It's a great feeling." The champs finished the regular season 58-44 and claimed first place in the Silver AA. In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and first baseman Chris Mullock said the Pierogis have "great fans and they deserve this."
