He easily handled Polar Bears pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Athletic Club KC Academy to a 13-2 triumph at The Igloo. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Pérez's quip, Polar Bears skipper Steve Ferguson said he "would take him up on that next time." José Pérez struck out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Damien Pierre in the 8th.
