Valdéz Strokes 5 Hits Friday, July 20th , 2063 No matter what the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs threw at him, Jorge Valdéz hit it. He easily handled Guinea Pigs pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Miners triumph, 12-3, at Marquette Stadium. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Valdéz's quip, Guinea Pigs skipper Cary Collins said he "would take him up on that next time." Jorge Valdéz hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Rod Pritchard in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Juan Martínez in the 8th.
