López Gets 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 14th , 2062
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Fort Knox's Ricardo López made it happen against the Beavers. Everything came together at the plate for the 21-year-old first baseman as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and helped the Centennial triumph, 2-1, at Beaver Town.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," López said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Ricardo López singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season, López has delivered 46 hits in 131 at-bats for a .351 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .430 clip and his totals also include 15 RBIs and 18 runs scored. This year López has played in 34 games.
