Malone Blanks Canucks Friday, August 19th, 2044 The Ogallala Octopi shut out the Moose Jaw Canucks 7-0 today behind the strong pitching of Stan Malone. Malone surrendered only 3 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 5. Following the last out, Malone appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Moose Jaw manager Bobby Davis, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Malone's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Canucks skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Octopi press conference, Malone confirmed that it was regarding the celebration. "He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Malone said. "And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Ogallala manager Luis Muñóz added.
