Cora Torches Octopi for 5 Hits Saturday, September 3rd , 2061 Even as a kid, Ramón Cora said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Ballpark of Wellsville, Cora showed how well he learned that lesson. The 21-year-old center fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Ladue Rams, helping his team knock off the Ogallala Octopi by a score of 5-0. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Ramón Cora singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th. Cora is hitting .269 this year with 10 home runs, 35 RBIs and 47 runs scored.
