Gators Preston No-Hits Canucks Thursday, August 19th , 2060 It was a fantastic day for North Ft. Myers Gators starter Joe Preston and a lousy day for the Moose Jaw Canucks. The North Ft. Myers hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Canucks, as the Gators cruised to a 1-0 win. When it was all over, Preston was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter. "The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Preston said later. He rang up 7 strikeouts and allowed 4 walks while shutting Moose Jaw down at Dodge Field. To date this season, Preston sports a 1-8 mark with a 3.16 ERA in 15 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .217 batting average and has 84 strikeouts in 99.2 innings.
