Willis Deals Northern Lions BC 5-0 Shutout Thursday, July 30th , 2054 It wasn't easy but the MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes made it look that way. Starter Thad Willis shut out the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes cruised to victory, 5-0. Willis allowed only 2 hits and rang up 3 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This year Willis has a 4-4 mark in 12 starts with a 4.06 ERA. He has given up 66 hits in 75.1 innings, struck out 63 and issued 25 walks.
