Thunder Hawks Take Down MotorBoaters, 2-1
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks did just enough to secure a victory over the Lake Murray MotorBoaters, 2-1, in 10 innings at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Ken Rhodes. Ft. Polk South reliever John Bell picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Luis Pizarro absorbed the loss. The Thunder Hawks sit in 6th place in the Silver AA with a record of 26-27.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when left fielder Ánibal Hernández, who is tied for 2nd in the SAA in bases on balls with 36, hit a solo home run. The Thunder Hawks went on to win.
"Tough loss," said Lake Murray manager David Buchanan. "Tough one to swallow."
