Martínez Goes on Rampage Against Blitzkrieg Saturday, June 10th , 2062 Hialeah Dodos second baseman Gilberto Martínez had a day to remember at Dodos Ballpark, ripping apart the Port Huron Blitzkrieg and sparking the 21-1 Dodos win. Martínez wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Martínez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Gilberto Martínez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Zhenya Fadeechev in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
